Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Sierra County Criminal History. Opening a page, reading its content, or submitting a search means that you accept each term below. Do not continue using the site if you disagree with them.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). It is a reference for official criminal-record sources in Sierra County, New Mexico, not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no connection to a public office. It does not store official criminal records, conduct official checks, retrieve files, or submit forms for a visitor.

Its content identifies custodians of Sierra County criminal records, including law enforcement, New Mexico courts, the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, and the New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on the following limits. You may not:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the pages
  • Interfere with performance or another visitor's access
  • Rely on site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any account, server, or system
  • Harass, threaten, or stalk a person with information found here
  • Violate federal, New Mexico, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool must not be used to threaten, intimidate, harass, stalk, or discriminate against anyone. Misuse can violate the law. The rule is especially important for New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry information governed by §§29-11A-1 et seq. NMSA 1978. Registry publication serves public safety and does not authorize vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Sierra County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not produce consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Its partners are not presented as services for applicant screening, rental review, insurance pricing, or credit decisions. Data from this site or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Assess credit or determine insurance terms
  • Make a hiring or termination decision
  • Evaluate a rental or housing applicant
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or public program
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

A legally permissible check for a regulated purpose must come through an authorized New Mexico Department of Public Safety process or a service that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, or expungement rule affects an individual matter. A licensed New Mexico attorney can address those questions.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is." There is no guarantee that:

  • An outside search provider's results are complete or correct
  • Every page is free from bugs, errors, or security flaws
  • The service will remain available without interruption
  • Information is current, complete, and accurate at all times

Charges, dispositions, sealing, and expungement can change a record after publication. Gaps and delays are possible, and no page should be treated as an official statement from a court, sheriff, or other agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to law-enforcement sites, court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search providers. Those destinations are independently controlled. Their prices, availability, content, and data practices are their responsibility, so review their terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Sierra County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site is not liable for damage arising from its use, including reliance on content obtained here or from a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the site harmless against claims, demands, and actions resulting from your use or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

New Mexico law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in New Mexico.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms stay in effect. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
